Natalie + Zach: Holiday Proposal at The Plaza

Natalie + Zach: Christmas Proposal at The Plaza

The Couple

They say when one door closes, another opens- and that reigns true for Natalie and Zach, our newly engaged G.St couple. When Natalie found herself in need of a new job, she connected with Zach who informed her of a job opportunity. They met up to discuss over happy hour. “I saw this as a sign from above and gladly accepted the invitation from this stranger. We met at a bar in Brooklyn a few days later, and I instantly thought he was cute,” Natalie shares. The job role wasn’t exactly Natalie’s cup of tea, but rather Zach who caught her interest. They stayed in touch and as fate would have it, Natalie found herself getting a job in the same department as Zach a few months later. And… you guessed it, the rest is history!

The Ring

As for the ring, that is where our own Jenn M. from G.St came in with her expertise. Natalie had previously told Zach her heart was set on a specific 3-stone design - a round brilliant diamond with trillion cut side stones. So, Zach worked with Jenn and our team to make the ring she always envisioned a reality.  “When I first saw it, I was shocked with how beautiful and big the diamond was. I was not expecting this stunning stone! Every time I look at it, I fall in love. I am so obsessed with my ring!” Natalie shares. Our jewelers custom made the ring for Natalie in 18k yellow gold with a round brilliant diamond center stone and two trillion cut diamond accents on the shoulders. The bride-to-be especially favors the illusion of all three diamonds appearing as one.

The Proposal

Zach set out to make this moment one the best of his soon-to–be-fiancé’s life - he had been planning it for months. “He fully surprised me. He said we were going to "meet up with friends” for cocktails and wouldn't tell me where until the night before. That’s when I found out it was The Plaza Hotel. He told me not to be late and to dress nicely, because afterwards we were going to view the Rockefeller Christmas tree and see a Broadway show.”  What Natalie didn’t know was that a bigger plan was in motion and soon she would be engaged.

After arriving at the Plaza, Zach suggested they take a photo by the Christmas tree in the lobby. As they were preparing for the photo op, Natalie noticed a single red ornament reading “Will you marry me?” She then turned to find Zach down on one knee. He hired a photographer to capture their special moment, reserved a night’s stay at the hotel AND flew Natalie’s mom in from California to join in the celebration. “It was one of the best days of my life” Natalie expresses.

Prior to the proposal, “I sort of had a hunch that something special might happen, but no idea that it would happen in the Plaza hotel lobby! Zach was feeling nervous leading up to it, but afterward, we were both incredibly happy.” A Christmas proposal at the Plaza in true New York fashion- what could be more romantic?

We are so delighted to be a part of your story and we wish you all the best- congratulations, Natalie and Zach!
