Retail Store Director

Greenwich St. Jewelers is a leading fine jewelry retailer based in Tribeca, New York. We are currently seeking an energetic, organized, and process-driven Retail Store Director to support our sales team and store operations. The ideal candidate will lead by example and scale our end-to-end retail experience, focusing on engaging both new and loyal customers, online and offline.

Responsibilities include:

Operations

  • Operationalize the retail experience and client experience to meet our luxury service standards
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations including ensuring proper staffing across all channels, meeting the demands of a 6-day-a-week retail schedule, operating on the various digital platforms we use for sales and services, handling escalations, and ensuring high-quality customer communications at every step of the sale, repair, return or custom project
  • Ensure compliance with all internal control procedures: maintain inventory accuracy and monitor inventory trends and performance to maximize sales
  • Maintain the highest standard of housekeeping and organization both on and off the sales floor
  • Introduce business ideas that offer the potential to increase sales and market share
  • Create operational foundations for the team to grow and improve client acquisition, sales skills and client retention
  • Work cross-functionally with the Marketing and Production teams and company leadership to achieve company goals
  • Coordinate in-store operations training for all associates on sales mechanics, product and brand knowledge
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards and store environment
  • Collaborate with ownership on store budget management and execution to maximize profitability

Team Development

  • Inspires and motivates our team with a focus on high morale and achieving results
  • Lead the team on executing superior customer service and after sales experience to increase and retain customer loyalty
  • Develop the sales and customer acquisition and retention strategies that will allow us to be better and grow
  • Attracts, develops and retains store talent
  • Demonstrate sales leadership by playing an active role on the sales floor through customer engagement with top clients, ensuring the highest level of customer service is provided

Our dream candidate has:

  • Minimum of 5-6 years of management experience in similar role and luxury retail environment
  • Strong knowledge of diamonds, gemstones, jewelry construction/fabrication; GG degree a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • High degree of ethics, professionalism, integrity, accountability and ability to inspire trust and influence a team
  • Ability to analyze selling reports, identify business trends, and react quickly to the needs of the business;
  • Must possess an entrepreneurial vision;
  • Proven ability in fostering a high-performance culture
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Flexibility to work a retail schedule which includes weekends
  • Will provide relocation allowance, if needed
