Social Media/ PR Coordinator

We are an independent omnnichannel jewelry company that is rapidly expanding. Located in downtown Manhattan, we present a curated assortment of sought-after and emerging designers, exquisite custom design work, and an extensive selection of engagement and wedding rings. We do all of this with a smart, talented team dedicated to best-in-class service that consistently delivers on our brand promise. The Social Media/ PR Coordinator reports to the executive team and works alongside our marketing agency to gain greater awareness of Greenwich St. Jewelers. This will be accomplished by helping to develop and implement the company's marketing, social media and public relations programs to generate ongoing attention, build awareness and increase sales.

This role is also responsible for managing, creating and executing content for the company’s blog, website and social media including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The ideal candidate will be a creative, focused, self-starter with excellent copywriting and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and strategic vision who is willing to to grow this position as the company continues to expand. You will enjoy a great degree of individual responsibility and have the opportunity to make an impact from day one, helping us to increase our brand's presence through digital outreach on all channels.

Specific tasks and responsibilities include:

  • • Help define communications objectives, develop strategy and lead program execution to build target audience awareness of G.St
  • • Develop PR and social media programs to support product launches and marketing campaigns
  • • Develop and maintain all PR and marketing materials including press releases, fact sheets, testimonials and related items
  • • Develop and sustain excellent working relationships with executive team, marketing agency, contracted vendors and the media
  • • Develop and maintain a consistent organizational message
  • • Ensure that organizational descriptions and messages are used consistently on all external communications
  • • Create and maintain a database/comprehensive list of media outlets
  • • Serve as overall liaison with media including bloggers and influencers
  • • Review and coordinate web site content as it pertains to marketing, public relations and social media
  • • Creation and management of social media content on multiple platforms
  • • Analyze and report on efficacy of PR, social media and marketing efforts
  • • Coordination and execution of creative assets
  • • Work with marketing agency to create compelling content across all channels
  • • Assist with planning, logistics, and execution of marketing plan and events
  • • Stay current on all social media and digital marketing trends, as well as jewelry and fashion trends

Required skills:

  • • BS, BA or Master's with 1-3 years experience in public relations, marketing or social media management
  • • Strong writing skills and an understanding or the nuances of writing for the web, social media and marketing communications
  • • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • • Must be self-motivated and be able to initiate ideas and projects
  • • Ability to motivate and persuade potential customers and collaborative partners
  • • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with the media, industry bloggers and influencers
  • • Strong attention to detail, excellent project management, communication and problem solving skills required
  • • Experience in jewelry, retail, fashion, accessories or related industries is preferred
  • • Strong organizational and computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • • Knowledge of computer design programs (i.e., Photoshop, etc.) useful
  • • Ability to operate photography equipment, including video is a plus

We are looking for an individual with a entrepreneurial mindset who can confidently sell $1.5M+ annually in our company. The ideal candidate seeks for opportunities through networking, existing clientele and building long lasting relationships with new clientele.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • • Enthusiastically sell all of our offerings including engagement rings, wedding bands, designer jewelry and custom design to meet sales goals
  • • Build new business and nurture repeat business by building meaningful client relationships

  • • Maintain a consistent and effective client development system
  • • Provide feedback to management that would assist in merchandise selection
