Annie + Mike : Gettin' Lucky in Kentucky

Annie & Mike

"Gettin' Lucky in Kentucky"

The Couple
What began as an office romance for Annie and Mike, quickly transpired into a decade-long courtship. Mike being a Jersey boy from across the pond, and Annie being a Southern girl from Kentucky who transplanted to New York- the two met while on location for work and after the first year of dating and introducing Annie’s beloved dachshund Tootsie to Mike’s two sons, all became inseparable.
“From running half-marathons to concerts and trips to The Cape, we were always on an adventure together...likely searching for the best bakery,” Annie shares.

The Proposal

For the proposal, it was a priority for Mike to include Annie’s parents and 96 year old grandmother in this milestone celebration, knowing how the obstacles of life make these moments that much more important to share all together. Annie and her family have always celebrated the 4th of July and Mike knew this would be the perfect time to pop the question.

Being that Annie is from Kentucky, she has a reputation for always taking the opportunity to pet the beautiful horses along the fences in her hometown. “Mike knows this about me and often yells at me to ‘get back in the car, you're going to get in trouble!" On the day of the proposal, the couple was on their way to brunch when sure enough, they had to pull over so Annie could interact with the several thoroughbreds trotting over for some attention. “I swear it's like they knew. Mike didn't have the type of ‘carats’ the horses would prefer but when I turned around, there he was on bended knee with the ring of my dreams. I was in total shock- and yes, we still went to get biscuits at our favorite place before running back home to share with the family.”

“We laugh now but, I absolutely have no clue what Mike said when he was on one knee. The proposal was a blur and I'm rarely speechless but I was-  I did say YES though, thank goodness!”

The Ring

Annie and Mike worked with our Senior Sales Specialist, Molly, on creating a custom design. “Much like our relationship, I wanted a ring that represented the past, present and future. With a touch of royal inspiration, it was important the ring felt and looked like "me". Molly poured hours into the design of our custom ring, ensuring every detail wasn't overlooked. She was so incredibly invested in bringing my vision to life. It's the perfect balance of old & new...classic & modern.” Annie’s engagement ring is composed of both platinum and yellow gold, with a stunning cushion cut center diamond, accompanied by two round brilliant diamonds on each shoulder and a pavé diamond shank.

A Big congratulations to Annie and Mike who will be tying the knot this September! We are so grateful to be a part of this life milestone and we wish you all love and happiness in this next chapter and adventure of life.
