Jess + Eric | Love in the heart of Dumbo, Brooklyn

In the world of chance encounters and serendipitous connections, Eric and Jess’s journey began on Hinge in the midst of the May 2020 lockdown. The pandemic kept them apart physically, Jessica in New York and Eric in Connecticut leaving them to navigate the digital realm of virtual dates. Little did they know that their bond would deepen, taking them on a path of love, resilience, and a truly unforgettable proposal. By August 2020, their virtual connection transcended reality and both knew they had found something truly special.

Fast forward to a moment that would forever shape their love story, the proposal!

The proposal happened in Dumbo, Brooklyn. Jessica said “ When I first woke up that day I thought there was a possibility it could happen. However by the end of the day I was convinced it was not going to happen since he had done a really great job at making me feel that there was no way it was going to be that day. Eric was concerned about the logistics and the timing of the location as he had planned several things throughout the day for the proposal to be perfect.

Jess said ”Brooklyn is very special to us because some of our first in person dates happened there. However, throughout the day he planned a whole bunch of activities and surprised me with a private room at Lysée where my favorite pastry chef recently opened her own restaurant. Dessert has always been my favorite part of a meal, so it was very meaningful that Eric asked her to create a really special dessert for us.”

When Eric popped the question, Jess said  “I felt a rush of excitement and was so happy. It was an unbelievable and unforgettable moment.”

Eric said “Then when I got on one knee I was overwhelmed with emotion and extremely happy.”

Jess was ecstatic when she saw her ring, the Amanda engagement ring setting with a cushion cut diamond from @singlestonela for the first time.

“The only thing I knew was that I wanted an elongated cushion. However Eric wanted us to go try out rings because he wanted to make sure that I loved the ring I would have for the rest of my life. I did not know what type of style I wanted and really was completely shocked when I fell in love with a vintage setting. After he knew what I liked he took the lead with the help of Dana at G.St on the rest of the process.”

“The ring was everything and more I could dream of. It was very much me. The style fits in perfectly with my personality.  My favorite thing about the ring is that I feel it has so much character and feels very unique.”

The experience we had at G.St was absolutely amazing. Dana was incredible, you could tell she truly loves what she does. She never made me feel pressured and took me through the whole process of trying out rings seamlessly. Throughout the whole experience she focused on what I liked and would bring out styles that she thought I would love and would ask me questions that would help me verbalize why I liked the ring. We did this until I fell in love with one. She was knowledgeable and we knew she was trustworthy. We can’t wait to continue going to G.St for any of our other jewelry needs. Thank you Dana!!

Thank you, Jessica and Eric, for allowing us to be a part of your journey. Your story reminds us of the beauty of love's journey and the joy it brings. At G.St, we're honored to play a role in crafting these cherished moments.
